Don't talk to me about hatred if you haven't been married.

The danger with hatred is, once you start in on it, you get a hundred times more than you bargained for. Once you start, you can't stop.

The Human Stain
If you hate a person, you hate something in him that is part of yourself. What isn't part of ourselves doesn't disturb us.

Hate traps us by binding us too tightly to our adversary.

It is hard to hate what one has loved, and a half-extinguished fire is soon relit
Hate is always a clash between our spirit and someone else's body
It is easy to hate and it is difficult to love. This is how the whole scheme of things works. All good things are difficult to achieve; and bad things are very easy to get
To hate fatigues
Hate must make a man productive. Otherwise one might as well love
Those whom we can love, we can hate; to others we are indifferent
